It isn’t surprising to see that secondary schools that allows malpractice to be conducted in the WAEC examination are being banned. Latest report reaching us today shows the list of Secondary schools banned in Rivers State, over examination malpractice.
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has banned a total of Thirty-Five (35) Secondary Schools in Rivers State from participating in its West African Senior Secondary Certificate Exam (WASSCE) till further notice. The reason why this article is published here, is to help candidates be aware that these schools have been banned, to avoid registering for WASSCE with them.
Candidates should also be aware that all the blacklisted secondary schools listed below have been de-recognised, and will no longer present candidates for the West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The main reason why these secondary schools were banned and de-recognised by WAEC is is due to their involvement in various examination malpractices that have been reported to the WAEC headquarters.
The letter containing the names of these schools that are no longer allowed to participate in the WAEC registration or examination was sent to the affected schools and was signed by the Deputy Registrar/Zonal Coordinator for the Head of National Office of WAEC, S.D. Kum.
SD Kum, disclosed that all the schools whose names appeared on this list have been banned and are no longer allowed to register candidates for WASSCE until further notice.
We were able to gathered that some secondary schools in Rivers State have acquired popularity in exam malpractices and these schools are tagged “Miracle Centres”, because all sorts of exam malpractices are allowed, and WAEC candidates hardly fail any of their subjects.
The “miracle centres” are patronised by desperate candidates and their parents who want excellent results for their children.
